World’s highest railway gets E-ticket system

XINING: E-ticket system will be launched Thursday on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the world’s highest rail system, in northwest China, the railway operator said Wednesday.
The full launch of the e-ticket system, which does not require passengers to use paper tickets for boarding trains, follows an earlier application at four stations along the railway starting June 20, according to China Railway Qinghai-Tibet Group Co. Ltd.
It will also be implemented on the Lhasa-Xigaze section, the first extension line of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. – Agencies
