ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office on Friday summoned a senior Indian diplomat and registered Pakistan’s strong protest over ceasefire violations by India along the Line of Control. In a statement, foreign office said that due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation forces along LoC in Karela Sector, yesterday, 28 year old woman named Madeeha Hafeez, resident of Batla Mathrani village, sustained serious injuries.
It said the Indian occupation forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons. India has so far committed 1487 ceasefire violations resulting in 13 shahadats and serious injuries to 106 innocent civilians during the current year. Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces, the Foreign Office underscored that such senseless acts are in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, and are also against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.
