Security plan issued for Cattle markets on Eid

-Special duties assigned to ITP against one-wheelers

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops have issued security plan for the cattle markets and the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha so that no untoward incident takes place during the Eid days. The officials said on Monday that over 2400 personnel of local police would perform duty at the Eid congregations to be held at mosques and imam bargahs in the city.
SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer has said that protection of life and property of the citizens is the priority of the police. He said that the police would ensure security of the homes, especially of those intending to go to their native villages to celebrate the Eid. The officials said that the security plan has been chalked out on the direction of IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman. They said over 2400 personnel including 4 SPs, 12 DSPs, and several ASPs would perform duty under the supervision of SSP Operations in the city. They said volunteers would be assisting the local police in maintaining security of the premises. Special measures have been taken to ensure patrolling as special squads have been constituted for the purpose. The Coronavirus SOPs would also be observed during the Eid days. The SSP has appealed to the citizens to refrain from unnecessary movement during the Eid days. On the other hand, prioritizing service to people and accomplishment of their responsibilities, cops of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have been assigned special duties on Eid day to maintain traffic discipline in the city especially to check stunts of one-wheelers and for religious congregations and at public places. In line with directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, SSP Traffic Syed Kar Hussain has chalked out a special traffic plan. Traffic cops will perform their duties at religious congregations and public places to ensure smooth flow of traffic there.
SSP Traffic has also constituted special teams to check one-wheeling and driving motorbikes without silencers by youngsters on the boulevards of the city. He said special vigilance would be maintained against vehicles having non-pattern number plates, tinted glasses as well non-registered vehicles so as to avoid any untoward incident. ITP would ensure action as per law against the violators.
Syed Karar Hussain has congratulated the citizens on the occasion of Eid and appealed them to cooperate with police by following traffic rules so that an exemplary traffic system could be maintained in the city.
