Ronaldo scores 750th career Goal, says next stop ‘800’

Karachi: Portugal and Juventus’ striker Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 750th career goal during Juventus’ 3-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League clash yesterday. Federico Chiesa scored the first goal in the first half before goals from Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata put Juventus ahead at the Allianz Stadium.
The 35-year-old took to Instagram to thanks his fans, family, players and coaches during this iconic journey.
“750 goals, 750 happy moments, 750 smiles in the faces of our supporters. Thank you to all the players and coaches that helped me reach this amazing number, thank you to all my loyal opponents that made me work harder and harder everyday,” Ronaldo wrote.
“But above all, thanks to my wonderful family, always present in my best and worst moments. Next stop: 800 goals!” he added.
He has so far scored 450 goals for Real Madrid, 118 for Manchester United, 102 for Portugal, 75 for Juventus and five for Sporting.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo along with Lionel Messi, Mohammad Salah and Robert Lewandowski, is among the candidates shortlisted for this year’s Best FIFA Men’s Player Award.
Thiago Alcantara, Kevin De Bruyne, Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Sergio Ramos and Virgil van Dijk are the other nominees for the men’s award which was won by Messi last year
The award ceremony, which was earlier scheduled to take place in September but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held virtually on December 17.
