Nawaz, Zardari given bails, not clean chit: Awan

– says Pakistani nation can’t be defeated despite conspiracies

ISLAMABAD: Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said that former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Asif Ali Zardari have been granted bail on medical grounds but their cases have not been dismissed.
Addressing the launching ceremony of Information Commission s website in Islamabad, she said that it will take time to get back the looted money from abroad, adding that the search is underway.
Dr Firdous said the nation will continue to defeat the extremist mind-set through collective efforts.
She hailed the efforts and sacrifices of the
armed forces, police and other law enforcement agencies for the eradication of terrorism. The special assistant said it is because of their joint efforts that peace stands restored and bright face of Pakistan is being introduced in the world. Referring to the launch of Information Commission s website, Dr Awan said it is aimed at providing credible and certified information to the people including the journalists about any institution or the priorities of the government.
“The Information Commission since its establishment last year has received two hundred and twenty applications,” she said and added of these one hundred has been addressed by the commission.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that peace was future of Pakistani nation and it would reach its destination with unity.
In a tweet she said that Army Public School tragedy was the manifestation that despite enemy’s conspiracies, Pakistani nation was never defeated and would never be defeated.
Agencies add: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday said that India and Israel were committing grave human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and in the West Bank respectively. Taking to social networking website, twitter, Dr Firdous said that both the countries continued to undermine the rights of the Muslim. She said that the brutalities and barbarism being carried out by occupation forces against the Muslims were fueling the emotions of resistance among them.
She said,” One photo is from West Bank, where an Israeli soldier is witnessing defiance of a Palestenian girl. The other is from India, where an Indian girl is showing defiance to an Indian Policeman. Common emotion ‘resistance’.”
Earlier on November 29, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission had strongly condemned the continued human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
During its recent session in Jeddah, the commission had called for an international investigation into allegations of systematic human rights violations including serious genocide threats in occupied Kashmir.
