Maj-Gen Ghafoor shows Shahrukh the mirror

DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor called out Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Ban for producing a propaganda-laden anti-Pakistan Netflix web series.

The spokesperson for the Pakistan Army has called out Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, showing him the mirror for producing a propaganda-laden Netflix web series.

Bollywood actor and producer Shah Rukh Khan tweeted the trailer of ‘Bard of Blood’, his latest Netflix venture that glorifies a fictitious Indian spy and is laced with an anti-Pakistan plotline.

The eight-episode Netflix series follows the stereotypical theme of portraying Muslims as violent, and is centered on a plot where almost all Pakistani Muslims are shown as terrorists.

“The trailer of our first @netflix series #BardOfBlood is here. A thrilling tale of espionage, vengeance, love and duty. Hope u enjoy it…,” tweeted Khan with the video trailer.

But the underlying anti-Pakistan India propaganda was visible even from the trailer.

Responding to Khan’s tweet from his personal Twitter account, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor called out the actor for his inability to see reality.

“Stay in bollywood syndrome @iamsrk. For reality see RAW Spy Kulbhushan Jadev, Wing Comd Abhinandan & state of 27 Feb 2019,” said Maj-Gen Ghafoor, reminding him of the real-life Indian spy Jadev caught by Pakistani law enforcers, and Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan, who was arrested by Pakistan after his jet was shot down infiltrating Pakistani airspace, but later released as a goodwill peace gesture.

“You could rather promote peace & humanity by speaking against atrocities in IOJ&K and against Hindituva of Nazism obsessed RSS,” said the Pakistan Army spokesperson, reminding Shah Rukh Khan of his responsibility not to fan hatred and instead promote peace.
