ISLAMABAD: Punjab Police once again proved that they remember their Commander with esteem and dignity and that they continue to honor their legendary colleagues and senior even after their demise as the Top Cops of Punjab gathered at Punjab Police’s prestigious training institute, Police College Sihala yesterday to name an upcoming wing of the accommodation for under training police officers at the College and named it as Durrani Hostel while they also named the newly established Park at the College as Durrani Park.
Late IGP Nasir Khan Durrani’s elder son Musa Khan Durrani was especially invited to a simple but graceful ceremony to mark the occasion, while the projects were formally inaugurated by Inspector General of Punjab Police Amir Zulfiqar Khan and attended by senior police officers and administration and Faculty of the Police College Sihala.
It is worth mentioning here that late Inspector General of KPK Police Nasir Khan Durrani had served twice at the Police College Sihala and left a great legacy behind. During both his tenures, he brought about revolutionary changes in the process of training for the trainees with special focus on extraordinary atmosphere around.
While the officers and col-leagues Nasir Durrani served with call his novel and innovation-based policing methodologies as ‘Durranism’, the offic-ers, got trained under him are known as ‘Durranists’.
Nasir Khan Durrani will always be remembered not only for being uoright and honest cop but maostly for his innova-tion that he brought about into Pakistan’s policing.
Pioneer of unmatchable projects like Rescue-15, Police Forensic Labs, Crime Scene Units, Criminals’ Computerized Data maintenance, stolen vehicles through Police Computer system, Safe City Project, Reciprocal Bell System, Public Reconciliatory Committees , Only FIR registration system, Internet-based police services to the Citizens, Police Intelligence Units, Police Counter Terrorism Units and much , much more. He served with dignity and retired wit grace, leaving behind tales and examples to be followed for centuries.
