Inter-provincial car lifter gang busted, six cars recovered

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Car Lifting Cell; ACLC of Capital Cops has busted an inter-provincial car lifters gang and recovered six stolen cars worth more than Rs.10 million from it.
Following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar to curb car theft incidents, DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed constituted special teams under supervision of SP Investigation Malik Naeem Iqbal.
A team headed by DSP CIA Hakim Khan including In-Charge ACLC Sub-Inspector Liaqat Ali, Sub-Inspector Sarfraz Ahmed, ASIs Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Ashraf, Head Constable Shahzad, Constable Qamer Sajjad and others succeeded to bust a notorious gang of car lifters. The police team nabbed three gangsters identified as Zahid Shah alias Zahdoo s/o Abdul Slam resident of District Mardan, Ibrhaim Shah s/o Saleem Shah resident of Badaber District Peshawar and Tariq s/o Baksh resident of Charsadda Road District Peshawar.
Moreover, during preliminary investigation, the crooks confessed of lifting cars from the twin cities of Islamabad ad Rawalpindi as well as other districts of Punjab and later selling them in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated his overall performance of ACLC police team and announced cash prize and commendation certificates for the team members. He has further directed to continue crackdown against car lifter as car theft rate has declined in Capital due to hard work of Capital Cops.
