Gang of thieves busted, foreign currency, valuables recovered

ISLAMABAD: PS Noon busted a gang of thieves and recovered foreign currency, wrist watches, files of plots and other valuables from them.
Following directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman and DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kausar, he said that massive operations has been launched by SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer against those involved in criminal activities.
He said that a complaint was registered at Noon police station by an overseas Pakistani Fida Muhammad that he has been residing in a foreign country along with family and recently came to Pakistan. On February 2, 2021, he was invited by his friend at Kallar Kahar and did not find his car at home on return parked at the porch. Moreover, foreign currency and other valuables were also found missing from the home. Following this complaint, SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer assigned the task to SP Industrial Area Liaqat Hyat Niazi to ensure arrest of criminals. He constituted a team under supervision of SHO Noon police station Sub-Inspector Ishtiaq Shah, ASI Arif and others. This team succeeded to arrest three thieves of a gang identified as Mali k Sohail Zaman, Hasnain Khursheed and Khawaja Ameen. Police recovered the stolen items from them and they confessed during the initial investigation to develop social contacts with overseas Pakistanis and later ransack their houses.

IGP Islamabad and DIG Operations have appreciated this overall performance and directed for further effective policing measures in the city. SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that more than 60 cases of theft and dacoities were resolves in last few days and effective policing measures would remain continue in the city.
