Four killed, one injured over domestic dispute

RAWALPINDI: A man killed four family members of his brother’s second wife and injured the girl herself over domestic disputes here on Tuesday and escaped the scene. According to details, Iraj Iqbal who had entered in love marriage with Khurram, hailing from Dhoke Kamal Din of Rawalpindi but at will of her parents was demanding divorce from him. Ghulam Abbas, the younger brother of Khurram annoyed over demanded of his sister-in-law barged into house of in-laws of his brother and sprayed bullets at the residents. As a result of firing Iraj was critically injured while his three sisters Hira Nousheen Iqbal 20, Sabahat Iqbal 25, and Kiran Iqbal 27, were killed on the spot.
The culprits later visited the shop of their younger brother Haider Ali 20, and shot him dead there. The accused fled the scene after committing the quadruplet murder. Parents of the deceased said that the matter was in Jirga to settle but Ghulam Abbas was threatening them of dire consequences. A case was registered into the incident and police started raids to arrest the culprits.

Nine including 21 alm seekers caught

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops on Tuesday caught nine outlaws for possessing narcotics as well as weapons, whereas 21 professional alm-seekers were also rounded up from various parts of the city. According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed, all officials of Capital Cops accelerated their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers. A special team under supervision of SP Rural Zone Farooq Amjad Butar which included DSP Qasim Khan Niazi, PS Nilore’s SHO Inspector Abdul Sattar Baig, ASI Muhammad Ahsan and others, nabbed two persons for involvement in harassing people and possessing alcohol. One of them was identified as Waleed involved in making videos while carrying weapons and other as Adeel having 10 liters alcohol. Meanwhile, PS Karachi Company recovered 90 liters alcohol wine from a car during checking whose driver managed to escape after being stopped by the police. PS Golra apprehended Baber and recovered stolen valuables from him while another accused Kalam-ud-Din was held for having 50 grams hashish. PS Tarnol busted Nawab Khan and recovered 280 grams heroin from him. PS Shalimar booked two accused Shaukat and Mubashir and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition from them. PS Shams Colony arrested Gulfraz and recovered 120 gram hashish from him. PS Shahzad Town also caught accused Ibrhaim and recovered one 12 bore gun from him. Separate cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further legal proceedings are underway against them. Moreover, during special checking in the whole city, police nabbed 21 alm-seekers from various areas and further legal action is underway from them.
DIG Operations Islamabad Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities. He said that it is the collective responsibility of the every person of the society to remain alert against those involve d in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
