FIA books National Savings officers for committing fraud

-2 con artists caught for looting Parliamentarians
-Passenger arrested over Italy’s fake residence permit

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has filed case against officers and security guard of the National Savings for committing fraud worth crores of rupees.
According to details, the suspects have embezzled funds of over two crore rupees by forging signatures. Sajjad Ahmed, Tariq Niazi, Junaid Ahmed (cashier) and Muhammad Junaid (security guard) were found guilty in a departmental inquiry.
The case has been lodged against the accused on the request of the assistant director of the National Savings and further investigations are ongoing.
On the other hand, two con artists ‘“ Muhammad Adnan and Muhammad Ayub ‘“ have been arrested for committing frauds with parliamentarians by using the name of federal minister for energy. It has been learnt that the suspects recently received Rs 5.70 lac from a parliamentarian by trickery. Both of them are likely to make further revelations during interrogation.
Meanwhile, a passenger was offloaded from Turkish airlines’ flight by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration after recovery of fake residence permit of Italy at the New Islamabad airport on Wednesday
As par details, passenger named Muhammad Nadeem was trying to travel through TK-711 flight, but he was offloaded by the FIA immigration team over Italy’s fake residence permit. The passenger was handed over to Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the FIA for further inquiry.
