FESCO initiates strict action against power theft

FAISALABAD: On the special directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Engr. Bashir Ahmed, FESCO First circle has initiated strict action against the power theft in the circle. In this connection, under the supervision of Superintending Engineer (SE) First Circle Muhammad Saeed has accelerated the special task forces and surveillance teams of all six divisions including Civil Line, Abdullahpur, Chak Jhumra, Jaranwala, Chiniot and Lalian, where they caught 130 power pilferers with red handed involving in stealing electricity.
According to the details, during special campaign against power theft, 21434 electricity meters were checked and 130 consumers found involved in power theft. These pilferers were stealing electricity through different means including direct supply from PVC cable, hole in meter, change of polarity and neutral break. These power pilferers were totally charged Rs.13.6 million in shape of detection bills while Rs.5.5 million has also been recovered. 41 FIRs have been registered in concerned police stations of the Sub Divisional Offices.
