FCCI Chief praises PM’s Clean and Green Initiative

FAISALABAD. Protecting the environment is our global obligation and in this connection business community of Faisalabad is fully contributing its key role in the materialization of Prime Minister’s vision of “Clean & Green Pakistan”, said Chaudhary Talat Mahmood Senior Vice President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
In a meeting with Mr. Waseem Ahsan Cheema Deputy Director Environment Protection, he said that FCCI was continuously concentrating on creating awareness among the society with a special focus on the industry. He said that regular messages are emailed to our members so that they could remain in touch with the latest developments in emerging the pleasant environment.
He further said that, yet another meeting would also be arranged to create more needful awareness among the FCCI members and officials of the environment protection department would also be invited to participate in it. He proposed that environment monitoring devices may be installed around all congested industrial and commercial concerns particularly setting up in the urban area so that immediate remedial measures could be taken to contain the pollution. He said adding that, environmental pollution is a serious problem but erroneously it has been dubbed only with the industry leaving other quarters waive off it.He said that automobiles are also one of the major causes of environmental and noise pollution which should be checked with iron hands.
He also stressed on the need of continuous efforts to curtail the pollution through extensive tree plantation and other approved measures.
Earlier to this, The Deputy Director environment protection Mr. Waseem Ahsan Cheema explained in detail the increasing pollution and said that society as a whole should play its vital role to make the environment suitable for all the doors to save the coming generations from pollution on priority.
He lamented over some scattered industrial units in the urban areas which are using hazardous fuel which is dangerous for human life. He further pointed to the Chambers of Commerce & Industries to play their live role to check this trend.
He also assured to resolve the issues relating to the early issuance of environment related NOCs for the new industrial units.
Rana Sikandar Azam, Rana Ikramullah Khan, Rana Sadiqe and other executive members were also present during this meeting.
