Eight including drug peddlers rounded up

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 08 outlaws including two drug peddlers and liquor sellers from different areas of the city and recovered 1420 gram hashish, two pistols with ammunition.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in drug peddling and looting people. Following these orders, SSP Operations Faisal Kamran directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.
According to the details, a PS Koral team headed by SHO Azeem Minhas along with other officials arrested a drug peddler namely Nayyar Bukhari and recovered 1170 gram hashish from his possession. Accused have previous criminal records also. Case has been registered against the accused and further investigation underway.Likewise, PS Bani Gala and Shehzad Town arrested two accused namely Adeel Ahmed and Azan, recovered 250 gram hashish from their possession. PS Tarnol team arrested three accused namely Mansha Abbasi, Mushtaq and Habib, recovered 03 liquor bottles from their possession.
Moreover, PS Sabzi Mandi arrested an accused namely Dildar Khan and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession. PS Shehzad Town arrested an accused namely Sadda Hussain and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Cases against all the nominated accused have been registered and further investigation is underway.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas has appreciated this overall performance of the police teams and further ordered to intensify the crackdown. “Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard”, he added.
