China, Lebanon agree to boost ties

BEIRUT: Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian said that China is willing to work with Lebanon to deepen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, a statement by the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon reported.
Wang made the remarks during his visit to the newly appointed Prime Minister Hassan Diab. Diab spoke positively of the bilateral ties between Lebanon and China, thanked China for its assistance for Lebanon in the political, economic, military and humanitarian fields, and hoped for more progress in bilateral cooperation in various fields. Wang also visited Foreign Affairs Minister Nassif Hitti, with whom he discussed the potential of promoting continuous development of bilateral relations between China and Lebanon.
For his part, Hitti said that Lebanon also pays great attention to the relations between Lebanon and China and is willing to work with China to enhance mutual trust, strengthen exchanges, and promote cooperation in various fields. –Agencies
