BEIJING: As the first anniversary of MH370’s disappearance approaches, the search and rescue work is still on, said Li Jiaxiang, head of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, before the opening of the annual Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference on Tuesday.
Li said that China is building search and rescue platform together with Malaysia and Australia for better cooperation. He also noted that China’s C919 passenger aircraft will roll off assembly lines this year and the first test flight is also planned for this year.
Malaysian Airline MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014 with 239 passengers and crew on board, including 154 Chinese nationals. The disappearance was finally announced as an “accident” and all 239 onboard are presumed dead.
