ALGC successfully resolves 98 complaints

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Land Grabbing Committee of Islamabad Police has successfully resolved 98 complaints.
He said that IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman had constituted an anti-land grabbing committee in Islamabad headed by Additional SP Farhat Abbas Kazmi along with ADC Kamran Cheema to resolve land disputes among the citizens. He said the Committee received 110 complaints from February to August of which 98 were disposed of. Out of these resolved complaints, cases were registered in 22 cases, 31 complaints were settled out through agreements among the contesting parties, police were directed for prompt action on 9 complaints and 26 complaints were termed of civil nature. The remaining 12 applications are being reviewed by the committee and decisions on them would be taken soon, said the officials.
SP Farhat Abbas Kazmi has said that Islamabad police and district administration are taking action to address citizens’ complaints on an immediate basis as per the vision of the government to facilitate the public. He said that weekly meetings of the Committee are held after receiving the complaints and this process would continue to provide relief to the citizens.
He maintained that disputes of civil nature are forwarded to relevant forums while cases are registered for immediate action in case the grabbing is proved. Moreover, complainants are provided protection and prompt action is ensured in case of any law and order situation. Kazmi said that big names in land-grabbing have already been sent to jail while this action will continue against the culprits to eliminate the menace. He said that no one would be allowed to illegally occupy someone else land. The officials said that the land grabbers used to sell the state land to simpleton on stamp papers.
