3 Pakistani soldiers martyred as 'Indian Army increases firing along LOC', says Maj-Gen Ghafoor

RAWALPINDI: Three Pakistani soldiers were martyred as the “Indian Army increases firing along LOC”, the director-general of Pakistan Army’s military wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said.

“3 Pakistani soldiers embraced shahadat. Pakistan Army responded effectively,” Maj Gen Ghafoor added.

In retaliatory gunfire, Pakistan Army killed five Indian soldiers, injured many, and damaged bunkers across the Line of Control (LoC). “5 Indian soldiers killed, many injured, bunkers damaged.

“Intermittent exchange of fire continues,” the DG ISPR wrote.

A day prior, the Pakistani Foreign Office had summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia to record its protest against the violation of ceasefire agreement and firing on innocent civilians across the LoC.

According to the FO, Indian security forces on Tuesday had martyred a civilian in unprovoked firing in Tattapani sector. It had also said the Indian army was continuously targeting civilians on the Control Line and Working Boundary.
