3 Pakistani athletes face four-year ban over doping charges

Lahore: Three Pakistani athletes Mehboob Ali, Mohammad Naeem, and Samiullah have been banned for four years respectively due to doping charges, ARY Sports reported.
According to sources, all three athletes have been banned under WADA rules and the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) have been informed by the South Asian Games Organizing Committee.
AFP have not yet officially announced the ban on athletes. Pakistan have lost 5 medals due to the positive dope test of athletes.
All of them were tested positive for using drugs in June. Mehboob and Naeem decided to go for testing of B-samples and tests of both athletes were also tested positive. Samiullah accepted his mistake and decided not to go for B-sample.
It must be noted that Mehboob won a gold medal in 400m hurdles whereas Naeem won gold in 110m hurdles. Samiullah won bronze in 100m at the 13th South Asian Games. – Agencies
