18 held during crackdown against drug pushers

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 18 persons during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against drug pusher and criminal elements and recovered stolen bike, narcotics, wine and weapons.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts, SP (Industrial Area) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh constituted police team under the supervision of ASP Zohaib Ranjha including ,SHO Industrial Area Sub-Inspector Mian Khurram along with team have arrested two persons namely Abdul Qadir and Zain Saeed who have previous criminal record in the cases of robbery and theft.Accused were nominated in the FIR’s of dacoity, street crime and theft of PS Industrial Area and two 30 bore pistols along with bullets have also been recovered used in crime. Further investigation id underway from them. Furthermore Bara KahO police arrested two accused Abdullah and sajjid and recovered one 30 bore pistol and 03 wine bottles from their possession. Margalla police arrested accused Zeeshan Ahmed and recovered 10 wine bottles from him. Karachi company police arrested six accused Aamir MasihSmoil, Pitras, Haseeb Ahmed, Arslan and Muhammad Afzal and recovered 40 liter wine and 450 gram heroine from their possession. Golra police arrested accused Khan zada and recovered one 30 bore illicit pistol from him. Sabzi Mandi police arrested two Dansih and arif and recovered stolen valuable from their possession. Shams colony police arrested a drug pusher namely Wali Muhamamd and recovered 1.188 kilogram hashish from him.
ACLC police arrested bike lifter namely Muhammad Atif and recovered stolen motorbike from him. Nilor police arrested accused Muhammad Ali and recoverd one 30 bore pistol from him. Cases have been registered again him and further investigation is underway from him.
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
