13 held, drugs & arms recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 13 criminals including three proclaimed offenders from different areas and recovered stolen car, drugs, Sheesha hookah and weapons with ammunition from their possession.

Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.

Following these directives, a Phulghran police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Hasnain and recovered one Kalashnikov with ammunition from his possession. Likewise, the Bani Gala police arrested an accused namely Javed Iqbal and recovered a stolen car from his possession.

Similarly, the Shalimar police arrested an accused namely Namdar involved in drug peddling and recovered 360 gram hashish from his possession while during action against sheesha centres, police team also arrested three accused namely Suleman Alam, Anwar Alam and Sajjad Mehmood and recovered sheesha, hookah and flavors from their possession.

Moreover, a Shams Colony police arrested an accused namely Ameen Ullah involved in illegal gas filling. Khanna police arrested an accused namely Sufyan Ahmed and recovered 10 liters alcohol from his possession.

Furthermore, the Koral police arrested two accused namely Khawar Hussain and Muhammad Ali involved in illegally petrol selling.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. During the special crackdown against court absconders and proclaimed offenders, Islamabad capital police arrested 03 proclaimed offenders from different areas of the city.

IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
